About Shadow Thieves

Shadow Thieves perform a fusion of rock, indie, progressive rock, roots, funk and atmospheric music on the first wave of the socialistic digital age. In 2010 the band consists of four members, 3 founders Matt Buckley, Joey Green and Jack Letizia with Cassidy Wilson a recent acquisition. The 3 began performing together on Australia’s Gold Coast in 2006 under the banner Enacio as a bit of fun. After performing with other local bands around the traps the word soon spread and national agency The Pushworth Group began hooking up the band major support shows with Spiderbait, The Angels (Angel City), Mammal, Grinspoon and the like. Late 2007 Enacio were introduced to Blue Tongue Management and in mid 2008 Enacio and Blue Tongue Management formed a loose alliance to work on the bands direction and structure. During this time Enacio performed Big Day Out, Loud Fest and Caxton Street Food and Wine Festival. Mid 2009 the band recorded two tracks (‘Promise’ and ‘Mystery’) at Loose Stone Studio under the direction of Matt Bartlem. The tracks were mixed by Forrester Saville (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, The Butterfly Effect). This recording session in effect gave the three members the realization that 1) They had created something good 2) That they had begun to find a direction and 3) that they had a lot more to give. This new inspiration brought about some serious changes. The band changed their name to ‘Shadow Thieves’ which they had performed under once or twice in the very beginning prior to Enacio. Then the band dissected every aspect of their musical being from an artistic point of view and began to develop. Song arrangement became paramount and in early 2010 the band put down four new songs at Loose Stone including 'Never Seen Today' this time with producer Shane Graham later mixed by Bernie Wedrat. Ted Jenson also worked on one track. The band invited long time friend and keyboardist Cassidy Wilson into the studio to add keys to some of the mixes and the fusion was instant. The result of the past 12 months has been their evolution into the four piece rock act Shadow Thieves and the recording of a strong debut 6 track EP titled Space Between in store August 18th. The band have another 12 unrecorded tracks currently in the works and all are continuing the evolution in the bands growth and direction. Recent performance at Fresh Fest with Cog, Spiderbait and Grinspoon, Launch It Festival (Surfers Paradise Festival) with You Am I and Bertie Blackman and a performance for Nova FM’s 5th Birthday in Brisbane with Blue Juice, Amy Meredith and more have shown the bands musical expansion to a whole new audience. In August 2010 Shadow Thieves introduce their music to the world, song by song.
