About Sector 27

Formed by Tom Robinson in late 1979 as an effort to begin a new direction, Sector 27 made their live debut in Liverpool on 11th January 1980. Comprised of Tom Robinson (vocals, guitar), Stevie Blanchard (guitar, vocals), Jo Burt (bass, vocals), and Derek Quinton (drums), the band released their first records on their own label, Panic Records. Later releases were on Fontana Records (UK) and A&M (US). Between 1980 and 1981 the group toured with both Elton John and The Police, however despite high profile concerts and a critically acclaimed LP produced by Steve Lillywhite, after their management company went bankrupt the band disintegrated, leading Robinson to suffer a nervous breakdown and move to Germany.
