Their music incorporated rapping, which was uncommon for the era. Their single "Must Be the Music" on Prelude Records became a dance classic. 2. Secret Weapon (Atlantic City, NJ, pop/R&B) Secret Weapon was a pop/R&B vocal group from the Atlantic City, New Jersey area, active in the late 1990s. The group consisted of four members, Nick, Sean, Shane, and Ralph, all of whom sang lead vocals. Influenced primarily by Boyz II Men, the group distinguished itself through four-part lead harmonies. Three of the members grew up together in southern New Jersey and began performing together in their youth, working early on with a teenage Rodney Jerkins and performing for producer Teddy Riley. The group signed to RCA Records in 1994 and recorded a full album in Los Angeles with producers including Sturken and Rogers and a then-17-year-old Robin Thicke, who wrote three songs. The album was shelved following internal changes at RCA. In 1998 the group signed to R. Kelly's Rockland Records imprint through Interscope Records, where they were given the name Secret Weapon. Kelly wrote and produced their album, which was mixed by Tony Maserati and completed by early 2000. A dispute between Kelly and Interscope over the lead single stalled the release, and after Interscope severed ties with Rockland Records following a scandal involving Kelly, the album was never officially released. Song titles from the project included "Didn't Have To Lie," "Gotta Represent," "Eight Sharp," "I Can't Close My Eyes," "Everytime I Hear A Song Like This," and "Daydreamin'." 3. Secret Weapon (Pontianak, Indonesia, hardcore punk) Secret Weapon is a hardcore punk band from Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The lineup consists of Erick (vocals), Wawan (guitar), Bacok (guitar), Meme (bass), and Samsul Fajri (drums). 4. Secret weapoN (Netherlands, hip-hop/dubstep) Secret weapoN (note the uppercase N) is a Dutch producer and member of hip-hop group RealistiK. His debut album, "Is Anybody Out There?" features primarily dubstep beats and was released as a free download.
