About Schatterau
Hamburg and Berlin-based Schatterau occupy a fertile space between Mapstation and Freundliche Kreisel, muddling decelerated pop with distinctly Deutsch hauntology. Originally a trio, most recent work find producers Daniel Jahn and Jonas Meyer sound more focused as a duo. Looped samples, dialog snippets and whispered half-songs that form a kind of waking dream. It plays like a flickering, dust-caked movie reel, rolling through haunted locales that Jahn and Meyer populate with their spectral instrumentation.
