About Sabrina Batshon
Sabrina Batshon (born October 26, 1984) is an Australian born singer, songwriter and actress. She is most known for appearance as a contestant on Australian Idol season 7. Sabrina began singing and dancing at an early age of 2 starting at the Johnny Young Talent School; where she participated in her first concert. Sabrina had roles in a number of Australian television series including 'Water Rats', 'GP' and 'Home and Away'. By the year 2000, at the age of 16, Sabrina had won numerous talent quests including the prestigious McDonald’s Performing Arts Challenge, in the open age Contemporary Vocal solo section. In 2000, Sabrina teamed with The Australian Girls Choir and other various artists such as Paulini for the Qantas Campaign CD – “The Spirit of Australia”. Sabrina headlined two songs on the album, “You’re The Voice” and “Permission to Shine”. Batshon was cast as understudy for the part of Dorothy in 2000/2001 Australian stage performance of The Wizard of Oz stage play. Soon after Batshon performed in the 2001 Australian Stage production of The Witches of Eastwick in Melbourne. Sabrina attended the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts where she was featured in the 2003 and 2004 Schools Spectacular at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. During 2005 and early 2009, as quoted on [[Australian Idol]], Batshon went through a dark period where she experienced chronic [[depression]], [[agoraphobia]] and [[Panic Attacks]], and was then later admitted to hospital. Batshon had almost given up on her music career until she decided to continue with the help of Australian Idol.
