About SECTR 24
"We are all about fusing multiple genres with synth programming and memorable melodies," Stephen Coleman enthusiastically states. "Ross and I started writing together when his best friend passed away in 2006. Commemorating the two year anniversary of his passing, we collaborated as SECTR 24 on what is now our first song, "Golden Heart Symphony," and we knew then that we need to make more music together. This decision to work together was easy for the two cousins. They have watched each other grow up. Stephen and Ross now work seamlessly to produce pulsating bass lines married with gorgeous piano melodies. They have a very unique sound which has developed largely through collaborative efforts done over the internet. While Stephen is wrapping up high school in Iowa, Ross attends Full Sail University in Orlando, FL. "You would think making music at long distances would be difficult to manage, but FTP servers and email make ideas flow like a hot knife through butter." Ross says. But the cousins who seem to enjoy all of the same things in life, believe their best music is done while they are sitting in the same room. Originally, SECTR 24 concentrated on writing electronic dance music with each musician acknowledging the different musical influences in their lives. Consequently, they have crowned their sound with pop hooks, eclectic beat programming, and catchy vocal arrangements. Collectively, the two have performed for thousands of clubbers, playing with DJs like Paul van Dyk, James Zabiela, and BT. Their music has caught the ear of seasoned professionals in the pop world, sparking interest with Disney's Cate Sparks and their tracks are making a debut on Markus Shulz's 'Global DJ Broadcast.' Ross Lara and Stephen Coleman are already making their impressive mark in the world of pop and electronic music. You will listen to their music and be amazed by the diversity. The opening number is flooded with ambient soundscapes. The next record will be an infectious melody with pop hooks and the last record will be dark, cutting edge dance music. With affiliations including Universal Music, Metronix Recordings, Silk Digital and a hand-full of sponserships (Highway Robbery and LMNOP Clothing), these two cousins will pop up in your iPod, tuned, and ready to go for whatever mood suits you. Stay tuned. :)
