He was born in 1959 in Kansas City. He studied composition and piano at the Duke University in North Carolina. In 1983 he moved to Amsterdam where he continued his studies at the Sweelinck Conservatorium, and the Royal conservatory in the Hague. He has written for widely varying ensemble such as the Concertgebouw Orchestra, Radio Filharmonisch Okest, Schönberg ensemble, Percussiongroup the Hague, Ives ensemble. 2. Ron "Prophet" Ford was a funk singer and songwriter best known as a member of the seminal funk band Parliament. He wrote and sang for Parliament and Funkadelic as well as other P-Funk acts like Parlet and fellow Parliament-Funkadelic member Bootsy Collins. He also appeared on a few George Clinton compilations as a solo artist. Ron Ford passed away on December 28, 2015 at 67 years old.
