About Rasmus Stenholm
This is Rasmus Stenholm with his first solo album. Following through the last 20 years he's worked as a sideman for musicians such as Jerry Donahue, Gregory Boyd, Doug Morter, Henning Stærk, Gregory Boyd, IanDawn, MC Hansen, Rock Nalle, East Coast Jazz Band and many more. He has now assembled a fantastic team behind him to celebrate the music he loves. With a strong background in both blues, jazz and soul, he has cooked a fondue of this experience in a band assembled round his Hammond B3. The concept behind the record has been celebrating spontaneity and joy of playing and therefore there's been minimal preparation and maximum responsiveness. The album is a wonderful mix of own songs and classics added a little bit of 'rice and beans'. One half of the recordings is played live in a studio, and the other half is a concert from Bent J. In fact, the last recordings from Bent J; an institution, not only in Aarhus, but also Danish and Northern European jazz history. Aarhus, DK in 2007.
