About Prime Dominance
Founded in 1996, Dominance Records started out releasing german hardcore/electro-hiphop (think early LL Cool J, T La Rock, Mantronix) by artists like 808 Mafia, Hartkor Kinkxz, Ko Lute and some electro productions by Dagobert and Prime Dominance. The label's focus gradually shifted towards old-school flavored electro and in the year 2000 the sublabel Dominance Electricity was founded for electro releases only. Next to the label's resident acts Sbassship and Dagobert there are releases by international electro-artists like Dynamik Bass System (Germany), Mandroid (UK), Decal (Irland), Imatran Voima (Finland), MAS 2008 (Germany), oldschool legends like Newcleus (USA) and the fresh new talents Gab.Gato (Italy), E-Control (Germany), Reeno (USA) and TwoLines (France). RETRO-FUTURISM is the theme of the label not only in sound but also in vision. Several covers have been illustrated by high profile Space Art gurus such as Michael Böhme (NASA Arts; took part in the first art exhibition in outer space on the M.I.R. spacestation), Swen Papenbrock (illustrator for the legendary scifi novel series "Perry Rhodan") and Bill Wray (one of the minds behind the 1990s cult tv cartoon series "Ren & Stimpy"). The latest release is the long awaited album "The Mighty Machine" by the Munich based Dynamik Bass System. 10 years after their debute on Gigolo Records, this LP delivers 6 brandnew jams plus a selection of their greatest hits remixed and evil artwork by Monozelle! Let's Rock!
