Playing a grungy take on the blues blended with heavy pop, the band released a self-titled four-song EP in 1993 produced by Kramer on Kokopop, and a full-length album (also self-titled) on Headhunter/Cargo in 1994. The Morning Glories' second album -Fully Loaded - appeared in 1995, produced by Bryce Goggin. Bassist Pierre DeGaillande replaced Palumbo in 1996 and the trio toured the US and Europe incessantly and released it’s 3rd full-length titled Let the Body Hang in 1997. Following this final Morning Glories’ release, the trio recorded and toured as the original core of the C Gibbs Review (Cargo) and C Gibbs Group (Atlantic); DeGaillande and Savelson have gone on to form ‘Melomane’ in 1999 with 4 international releases to date; Gibbs and Savelson have gone on to form ‘The Droves’. All remain active in NYC music with projects including Lucinda Black Bear led by Christian Gibbs, The Snow and Bad Reputation led by Pierre DeGaillande; and Kenny Savelson has logged over a decade as a leading producer of Bang on a Can. The Morning Glories have not appeared live as such since 2002.
