About Mindcap

Dmitry Morozov (also known as Mindcap) is ukrainian independent artist. He was born on 5th of June 1989. His childhood was surrounded with music all the time due to his father and uncle who used to fill the space of their small flat with sounds of classic rock. At the age of 10 Dmitry heard the vinyl of The Beatles for the first time and was heavily touched. That led him to picking up the guitar. During next 5 years he used to go to the music school, studying classical guitar. After graduating Naukova Zmina college, Dmitry decided to continue his musical education at Glier musical university. He currently studies there at the jazz faculty, specialised on electric guitar. However, this is not his "main" instrument at the time. He plays the кeyboards a lot and uses them on his recordings. Dmitry is being influenced by a great number of different genres and styles. He loves psychedelic-era artistis such as Syd Barret, Robyn Hitchcock and Pink Floyd as well as modern alternative bands such as Placebo, Radiohead and Coldplay. Dmitry is also a fan of electronic music and the IDM artists such as Four Tet, Bonobo etc. Artists like Lykke Li, Ellen Alien, Goldfrapp, Freezepop and Depeche Mode are also his influences. He also loves listening to some bands of post-punk era such as Joy Division, Iron Curtain, Portishead etc. Mindcap had currently released one EP called "Naked", but new material is coming up.
