About Matteo Coferati
Matteo Coferati was born on July 8, 1638 in Florence, he spent almost all of his life in his city and from 1663 he was appointed chaplain in the cathedral of Florence, where he also worked as organist and cantor at the same time. C. devoted himself above all to teaching, so much so that much of his work is aimed at improving the teaching of music theory. He died in Florence on Jan. 16. 1703.
