About Masayo Asahara
Masayo Asahara is a composer of music beginning in the 1970's that encompasses various definitions from drone, prog, jazz, to ambient. Her studies in music were mostly concerned with the early American minimalists, especially LaMonte Young and Tony Conrad. The album "St Agnes Fountain" was a project stemming from her involvement with the Osaka free jazz scene. Asahara currently teaches electronic music at Sheffield University.
