Lisa-Marie Fischer’s Biography Lisa-Marie Fischer (20) was born and raised in the idyllic small town of Marburg, Hessen. She will finish High School there in the summer of 2012. Her passion for music awakens during her early childhood. In 2007, she makes a long desired wish happen when she records a cover song at a studio in Cologne. There, she is has been advised that it would be best for her musical development if she would start playing an instrument. By the end of 2007, she takes up guitar lessons. Aged 16, Lisa-Marie travels with her parents to Miami, Florida to board a musical cruise ship called “Cayamo Cruise-A Journey Though Song”. During this cruise some well-known artists from the American singer/songwriter and country music scene perform, among them EmmyLou Harris, John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett and Shawn Colvin. For Lisa-Marie, this is one of her most important journeys and she considers it to be a life-changing experience. Meeting a lot of bands and musicians like Ryan Bingham, Brandi Carlile or Holly Williams strongly increases her interest in wanting to write her own songs too. Meanwhile, Lisa-Marie has become completely dedicated to music and composes her own songs, which can be attributed to the singer-/ songwriter tradition. Lisa-Marie performs her songs on stage with the guitar and a harmonica. Her repertoire includes emotional ballads, which are never cheesy, as well as quick folk songs. Her extraordinary voice and her talent to write songs don’t stay undiscovered for a long: Since July 2010, Lisa-Marie Fischer is being supported in the development of her career by Stevja Promotions from Marburg as well as by the Powerplay Studios located in Switzerland. Stevja Promotions and the Powerplay Studios are sure to have discovered in Lisa-Marie Fischer an artist who soon will be known and successful beyond Germany. Invitations to the festival “Townes van Zandt Tribute Italy 2010” in Figino Serenza, Italy on October 30th 2010, Sony Country Music Meeting in Berlin, Germany on February 4th, 2011, as well as to her first performance in the United States on March 12th, 2011 in Burlington, New Jersey, seem to proof Stevja Promotions and Powerplay Studios right. In February 2011, Lisa-Marie Fischer recorded her first studio CD at the legendary Powerplay Studios. The CD was released on March 26th was well received: Country Music News: „ And her voice? Her voice is somewhere between Steve Nicks and Alison Krauss; you just should listen to it….. Her voice sounds always great. Very authentically and in best Singer / Songwriter tradition. …. just 20 years old, Marburg-based, a huge talent in country and folk. A woman with a future, no question about that. Rocktimes: “Lisa-Marie Fischer sings in a wonderful fresh and unconsumed manner.” Brent Hallenbeck, Burlington Free Press: „ I also started to tell her after the show that her songs are great for someone so young (she’s 19) until I caught myself – they’re good, period. They’re very mature and descriptive and filled with great hooks; a lot better than many veteran musicians can deliver.“ Lisa-Marie Fischer has been touring in Germany with different American artists: The Bowmans (New York), The Amida Bourbon Project (Burlington, Vermont), Janet Martin Band (Virginia), Joshua Panda Band (Burlington, Vermont), the guitarist / singer-/songwriter Lowell Thompson (Burlington, Vermont) and Kelly Ravin, another great guitarist / singer-/songwriter from Vermont. During July / August 2011 Lisa-Marie Fischer first toured in the US appearing amongst others at the TTThe Bears (Boston; Nirwana started their career there), the Living Room (New York; Amy Mc Donald, Norah Jones). Highlight of the tour was the show at the Lake Champlain Maritime Festival. Artists like Taj Mahal or Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and Kenny Chesney performed at the same festival. Lisa-Marie Fischer is on air with many radio stations like Hessischer Rundfunk, Radio Bremen, Swiss Country Radio, Belgischer Rundfunk, Saarländischer Rundfunk, youfm and many others. She was also invited to appear in the trailer of “The Voice Of Germany” produced by Pro7 / Sat1. In 2012, Lisa-Marie Fischer will be on the road in Germany and the US with artists like Liz Longley, Shannon McNally or Will Sexton.
