MacGuffins were an indie guitar pop band from Melbourne, Australia in the late 80's. The band was led by Rowan Smith (guitars, vocals) with Michael Wilkins (drums, also Redfish Bluefish) and Michael Paxton (bass). Additional artists who played with MacGuffins include Neil Brennan (Nello, Redfish Bluefish, Linoleum) and Phillipa Nihill (Underground Lovers) on keyboards. Rowan Smith also subsequently led the Melbourne band Barefoot.
