About Les Marquises

The project is created and led by Jean-Sébastien Nouveau (Immune, Recorded Home, Colo Colo) with american Jordan Geiger (Minus Story, Shearwater, Hospital Ships) and multi-instrumentist Jonathan Grandcollot (Pan Pan Pan, Robe Et Manteau). Some other friends/musicians have joined in the making of the album. Conception and elaboration of LOST LOST LOST was inspired by the artwork of the american artist Henry Darger (1892-1973). This solitary man who worked all his life as a toilet janitor in a Chicago hospital, and who gave birth to a singular graphic universe, Realms Of The Unreal, a kind of “homérique” comics in 13 volumes, made of large, naive and hallucinated watercolors. In 6 hypnotic titles alternating between resounding crash and relative calm, LOST LOST LOST offers a dense and contemplative music that is constantly boiling, reminding us perhaps of Third Eye Foundation, Can or also Moondog.
