About Lee Cooper
Lee cooper was born in the naval town of Portsmouth in the mid seventies. Much of his childhood was spent drawing and painting movie stars, musicians and comic book characters. At the age of fourteen Lee acquired his first guitar and learned to play and sing Beatles, Pixies and Bob Dylan songs. Lee has performed in bands and solo in Portsmouth, Southampton, London and Germany. He also recorded a song at the BBC for an independent film with local musicians. Whilst performing and writing songs he attended art school and made paintings that expressed some of the topics that would manifest in his song writing such as relationships ,self doubt, fear and love. Lee Cooper’s self produced debut album “Subtitles” is a heartfelt exploration of what it means to be in love and out of love with the world, a thoughtful blend of poetry and everyday talk, with influences of rock, indie, pop and folk. Although Lee played most of the instruments on the album himself the live set is brought to life by the band who are : Matt Parsons–guitar & backing vocals Brett Flood-bass, Andy Sturges-drums, Jamie Toms-keyboards.
