About Kat Frankie

Kat Frankie is Australian-born singer-songwriter and guitarist Kathryn Mellander (born in Sydney on 8 July 1978). She relocated to Berlin in December 2004 and has issued a series of solo studio albums, including Pocketknife (September 2007), The Dance of a Stranger Heart (September 2010), Please Don’t Give Me What I Want (September 2012) and Bad Behaviour (January 2018). Prior to her debut album, she released the single "The Tops" and the EP “outside.now.” Her second single was "Serves You Right For Using Violence" . She featured in BerlinSong, a music documentary made by Uli Schueppel about songwriters in Berlin. The film premiered at the 2007 Berlinale Film Festival. She tours Europe and makes frequent visits back to Australia to tour, including playing the 2008/09 Falls Festival. Her third album, Please Don't Give Me What I Want, appeared in September 2012. During 2016 she formed a pop duo, Keøma, with fellow singer-songwriter Chris Klopfer. She released, Bad Behaviour, her fourth solo album in February 2018 through Grönland Records.
