About Karmic Society

Founded 2005 in Heidelberg/Germany KARMIC SOCIETY has developed a significant handmade style in the meantime combining elements of westcoast psych/jam bands, kraut and jazz rock with the line-up Mario Schulz (guitar), Winnie Rimbach-Sator (Hammond, Rhodes, Moog), Karsten Kulinna (bass, vocals) and Steff Bollack (drums). KARMIC SOCIETY is busy working together with other musicians and always welcome on festivals like 'Burg Herzberg' for example enhanced during their live performances by Keith Pearson who manages a spacey lightshow. Rimbach-Sator as a young talented keyboarder who masters all the retro instruments like Hammond, Moog and Fender Rhodes also appears on the Obskuria release 'Discovery Of Obskuria', a spontaneous project with musicians from all over the world coming together first at the 'Trip in Time' festival in 2006. In 2007 KARMIC SOCIETY released the debut album 'Journey' on the World in Sound label with self-composed songs and covers halfway through. The opener 'Raumpatrouille Orion' reworks the melody of the famous eponymous german 60s Sci-Fi series. Two long jams are also to point out whereas one is an interpretation of CAN's 'Yoo Doo Right' and with the GRATEFUL DEAD cover 'Dark star' the band notably indorses the qualities they have. Recommended to sophisticated psych/fusion/jam listeners.
