Though the core members started recording demos together as early as November 1994, Join'r really started to take shape in early 1997 from the ashes of Driver Eleven. The extremely prolific Join'r cranked out a relentless stream of catchy emotionally math charged indie rock. Led by core members lead vocalist and guitarist Carlos Pena and drummer Brett Friesen (Ariel Mile, The Bollweevils, Houseboy). The band went through various permutations and short breakups over the years, with their most stable and strongest lineup being the original early version which featured Ace Cowden (Ariel Mile, Houseboy) on guitar and vocals and Craig Coffresi on Bass. Join'r released five full length CDs on the yournewboyfriend label and toured relentlessly until finally calling it quits in 2006.
