About John Davis and group

John and his brother Peter were members of the Georgia Sea Island Singers. They lived on the Southeast coast of Georgia and were from St. Simon's Island. Rounder Records has re-released recordings of the Sea Island Singers from tapings made by Alan Lomax with funding from Mrs. Maxfield Parrish in the 1940s and 1950s.
