Johann Egidius Bach (born February 9, 1645 in Erfurt ; buried November 22, 1716 ibid), also Aegidius or Aegydius, was a violist and alto player in the town musicians company in Erfurt from the Bach family. In addition, he was organist at the Kaufmannskirche and Michaeliskirche; since June 30, 1682 he was director of the council music; since 1694 he had permission to trade in " Nuremberg goods ". He is the father of Johann Bernhard Bach.
