About Jiří Schelinger

Jiří Schelinger was an iconic Czech rock singer and composer. His voice was one of the most characteristic and colourful vocals in Czech rock history. Despite his short life, Jiří created many everlasting hits like Holubí dům (The House of Pigeons) or Kartágo (Carthage). (and Robber Willy, Frozen strawberries, I am just a crazy) In 1981, at the age of 30 and from reasons unknown, Jiří died after jumping from the Old Bridge in Bratislava. As neither his relatives or close friends could identify his dead body, many of Schelinger's fans believe that he survived the jump and spend the rest of his life in peace and quiet.
