History: Jessica Cerro is Triple JJJ's 2012 Unearthed High Finalist representing Sydney, Australia. Jessica started writing at age 16. Her first song More was written for her soccer scholarship in the US for university studies. Her second Someone Out There was popular among friends. The third The Return was inspired by the BBC UK Series Sherlock at which she is a fan. Three months after her first song, she wrote her fourth song Anyone But Me on January 2012 and uploaded it in Unearthed on March 2012, the song that gave her finalist status in the JJJ competition on August 2012 beating around 850+ bands and solo artists across Australia; used by Manly Council for their immerseyourselfinmanly.com.au promotion.; as well many other online promotions like shoptiques.com and included in Triple J Ausmusic Month mix tape in November 2012. But it was on April 2012, prior to the competition and the national exposure in radio 105.7 FM JJJ, that she knew she'd be part of a proud history. That month, she was discovered by Alberts. Alberts is a powerhouse in Australian music spanning 128 years of experience, with music management for legends like ACDC, The Easy Beats, John Paul Young and with the current roster of Gotye, San Cisco, Washington and many more. From April 2012 every school holidays, Jessica attends a day or two at Alberts. Under the guidance of Creative Development. She calls them the best music teachers anyone can have. Through this environment Jessica, has harnessed around 25 songs by October 2012 however a handful only recorded as a demo. After months of 'getting to know each other' on November 2012 Jessica signed a publishing deal with Alberts. On January 2013, she is off to New York to spend 2 days in studio with multi-platinum music producer and will work with songwriters to harness her development.. On October, as her 3rd gig she opened for ARIA 2012 nominated band Dappled Cities at the legendary The Metro. Her first gig with Sam Buckingham, second in Kingdom of Little Empires at the Brisbane Powerhouse; 4th with Tin Sparrow at another legendary venue The Standard; 5th at Goodsmall Club for The Cub Scouts; 6th for the legendary social event Sosueme; 7th gig at Oxford Art Factory for LA Indie Awards Monks of Mellonwah and expect many more, until she's established enough to do her own shows. Between the years 2012 and 2013, are months of music development for Jessica. With the hope that by the end of HSC and when she takes a gap year at age 18 on August 2013, she has acquired a more solid production and performance experience. This gap year is when she plans to focus on her music.
