She composed her first song when she was eight years old. She creates entire compositions in her recording studio. She writes in several genres, including R&B, country pop, rock, electronic dance, and jazz; however, the pop style dominates in her musical expression. Irena has cooperated with Hollywood producer Rene van Verseveld (previously produced Enrique Iglesias, Tecnotronics, Marc Anthony, etc.) as a songwriter, singer, and producer. In Europe, she worked with manager Gane Pecikoza as a songwriter and lyricist. Irena is also the author of several songs on Tey Punsalan's album.
