Emerging from depths of the former 'Murder Capital of the World' of Santa Cruz, California, In Love and War combines anthemic choruses, strong and heavy guitars, dark melodies and vicious energy with thoughtful and engaging lyrics- creating a furious hybrid of rock, hardcore, and punk. Formed under the banner Stalin's War while still in high school, the band quickly began playing their local Bay Area circuit, booking their own national tours and releasing CDs with the help of a small local label. In early 2005, In Love and War released 'A Split of Nightmares' (4 songs each, split CD) with Aiden (Victory Records) and spent the winter and New Year touring together. In Love and War has earned its reputation as one of the hardest working independent bands in California, reaching fans coast to coast and across oceans, earning positive press from Alternative Press and Metalhammer magazines and sharing stages and/or touring with: Aiden (Victory Records), I am Ghost (Epitaph), A Static Lullaby (Fearless), Three Inches of Blood (Roadrunner), Scars of Tomorrow (Victory), On the Last Day (Victory), Horse the Band (Combat Records), First Blood (Trustkill), The Classic Crime (Tooth & Nail), A Day to Remember (Victory), Kane Hodder (Fueled by Ramen), So They Say (Fearless), HeavyHeavyLowLow (Ferret), Catherine (Rise), If Hope Dies (Metal Blade) and more. With a passionate work ethic and busy tour schedule, In Love and War continues to cement their position as an archetype of female fronted rock/hardcore with a neck breakingly energetic stage show and a rapidly increasing diehard fan base. In Love and War are currently writing and demoing new material. They will release their first full-length record under their new banner in 2007.
