About Hinterlandband
hinterlandband is a group of musicians (led by former Blinker the Star member Colin Wylie) who live in interspersed locations in the Ottawa Valley. The name hinterlandband, the cover of their first record album leaving fallow field and their music, attempt to convey the essence of their homes’ landscape and their lives therein. Hinterlandband has become a unique blend of musical influence that ranges from blissful, melodic, dissonance bringing bands like Doves, Elbow and Explosions in the Sky to mind – and – a blend of folk pop that has been said to echo the influence of bands like Midlake, Wilco and The Jayhawks.
