About Ground Round

Ground Round, what a horrible name. We constantly tried to change it but no one would let us. We existed from 1991 to 1996. We put out four records, went on three tours across the United States, and played whenever we could in and around Santa Rosa, CA. We acquired our first record deal when Gabe ran naked through Sonoma Coffee Company, therefore scoring 1,200 points in the "Win A Record Deal" scavenger hunt hosted by Kirbdog Records. Our essential modus operandi could be summed up by three select shows, all within a 1/4 mile radius of each other: In 1993, we rented a generator to play inside the huge storm tunnels that run for three blocks underneath downtown. The cops came and we had to move to Doyle Park. In 1995, we played in the lobby of the Post Office in the middle of the night for a huge group of friends. People threw shit all over the place, smashed beer bottles, stole the flag and lit it on fire, and blew off bottle rockets. Amazingly, the cops didn't come. In 1995, we played a party at Shona's house on 2nd Street. Josh was drunk and Gabe was on acid. Adam was very patient. The cops came - after we wandered off into the night. We got back together exactly once, in 2003, to play at Adam's wedding in Occidental. It was fucking awesome. Gabe now plays in Santiago. Josh now plays in Hate Nevada and the Flyover States. Adam plays in A Parting Shot. Thanks. We hope you're all doing well. more info: http://www.myspace.com/groundroundsantarosa
