About Gordon S. Wood
Gordon S. Wood is an American History Professor and author. He was born in Massachusetts in 1933. He received his PhD in History from Harvard in 1964 where he studied under Bernard Bailyn. Since 1969, he has taught at Brown University, where he is now Alva O. Way University Professor and Professor Emeritus of History. Wood is an influential author on the subject of the American Revolutionary Period. His two most important works are, "The Creation of the American Republic, 1776-1787," (1969) which won the Bancroft Prize and "The Radicalism of the American Revolution" (1992) which won the Pulitzer Prize for History.
