The sound is high concept, high modernist broken rock that evokes the aggression inherent in all forms of organization -- an impression reinforced by the band's carefully detailed stage show. Similar to Queens of the Stone Age and The Melvins, Generalissimo is an exercise in restraint. Similar to North Korea’s Mass Games, Generalissimo is a demonstration of radicalized unity.
