About Faridkot

Faridkot is a Sufi/blues-rock band from Delhi, India, centering around funk rhythms and bluesy indipop vocals. Formed in 2008, Faridkot is best remembered as the finalists of Channel V's music reality show Launchpad in 2009. They released their debut album Ek to tremendous critical acclaim, following the program's wrap-up. The band comprises vocalist Inderjeet (IP) Singh, guitarist Rajarshi Sanyal, drummer Sahil Mediratta and bassist Nikhil Rufus Raj. Previous members of the band have included keyboardist Akshay Raheja and bassist Gavin Pacheco. Their live setup now has three backing vocalists, Meg D'Souza, Aditi Singh Sharma and Sonam Gaychen Wangdi. Faridkot's influences are varied from Tool and The Mars Volta to RX Bandits.
