About FFI

Formed in 1997 by Eric Metzger and Chris “Wiz” Wieczorkowski, FFI quickly became a staple of the underground Las Vegas music scene, gaining the respect of both fans and participants alike. Early on, a virtual revolving door of drummers threatened to sideline the band, until early 2001, when former 12 Volt Sex drummer, Gary Wright, joined. In the summer of 2001, FFI set foot into the studio, and laid down the tracks for what would be come the band’s debut album – Apples & Oranges. In November of 2001, Apples & Oranges was released to much critical praise on Vegas based Big Lizard Records. In 2003, Metzger invited Amber Halo front man, Matt Torrey to join FFI as a second guitar player, and the newly-christened four-piece went back into the studio to begin work on their sophomore effort. Sadly though, in 2006, Metzger announced that he was breaking up the band, and Germ – FFI’s long awaited second album – never saw the light of day. Flash forward to summer, 2009. Metzger returned to Las Vegas and reconnected with his old band mates. Seemingly rejuvenated by the time off, the members of FFI picked up where they had left off, and in July performed their first show in over 3 years to an enthusiastic crowd. Metzger’s and Torrey’s blazing guitar and caustic vocals, Wiz’s thudding bass, and Wright’s bombastic, thundering drums are still the perfect concoction. FFI’s straightforward approach to punk ‘n’ roll has earned them comparisons to Iggy and the Stooges and MC5. “This is what rock and roll is supposed to be... uncompromisingly earnest, astutely aware and alive with passion.” – Ivy Hover, SinCitySounds.com
