Nobuchika Eri (full name: Nobuchika Eriko) was born on August 3rd, 1985, in Fukuoka, Japan. Eri was discovered when she sent in a demo tape to Sony Music's "Gonna Be A Star" audition. Eri was offered 7 other record deals, but eventually came to the decision to sign with Sony. Eri's first single, "Lights," was picked up as a feature track on the popular Playstation Portable game "Lumines." The immense success of "Lumines" caused Eri to gain popularity not only in Japan, but in North America and Europe as well. Her debut album, "nobuchikaeri", was produced by Shinichi Osawa.
