About Equipo GO

Equipo GO (Spanish, "Team GO") is another name for the staff who made "Game Over", a Spanish weekly radio show about video games, with an special comedic and satiric treatment, broadcasted since 2001. As of 2012, they are running their 12th season. "Game Over" is hosted by Marc "Funspot" Rollán, together with his partners, known by their nicknames: Isako, Saeba, Koopa, Jonny, Isaac250, Benelux, Fukuy, Mr. Pengo, among others. The show is broadcasted live every Saturday at 2pm UTC, from the studios of Radio Despí in Barcelona, Spain, and streamed online on Radio Despi's website and also on Radio Battletoads. The show is later uploaded to their podcast channel, usually on Sundays, Every episode of the show has the same structure: In its first hour, they start talking about the poll of the week and, after announcing all the contents of that chapted, they begin a 15-minutes aprox. debate about some serious news or current issues on the video game industry. After that, and for the rest of this hour, it's time for "las chorradas", strange or not so serious news related with gaming, the signature moment of the show when all the members of GO satirizes the video game industry and the people involved in them, like Bobby Kotick, Michael Pachter, Peter Molyneux, Gabe Newell, and more. For this segment, they also created some characters like the PS VItera, a mexican-accent talking Kinect, Leonardo da Vinci (based on the story of the Assasin's Creed Series) and Fukuy, the master of the PC platform. The first hour is usually finished with "La Gilipollez de la Semana", the most stupid story about gaming of the week. The second hour contains three segments. The first and the last are established sections, swapped every week, which details various topics and current issues about video gaming. And in the second, the GO team review the most important video games released in later dates. Some sections for the second hour includes: "Comiqueando" (One monthly section about Japanese comics, another monthly about American and Western comics), "Famosas últimas palabras" ("famous last words", more comedic stories), "Ser Gamers hoy" ("being gamers today", tips for adult video gamers and how can integrate their hobby with their current life), "Todo lo que quizo saber sobre videojuegos y nunca se atrevió a preguntar" (the history of the video games industry, lit trans "All the things that you want to know about games and you never dare to ask"), "Japón" (really strange news about Japan and its people) and "Destripando la Industria" ("Guttung the Industry", how the video games industry works)
