About Einar Mjølsnes

Born 20 May 1952 in Voss, he is a folk musician (fiddle) and composer. He works as a county singer in folk music in Hordaland and as a freelance musician. His plays include the folk music group Gamaltnymalt with Sigrid Moldestad and Håkon Høgemo. The trio won the Norwegian Grammy Award 2005 in the class folk / gammeldans for the debut album Gamaltnymalt. He has participated in a number of recordings and festivals, and collaborated with artists such as Gabriel Fliflet, Ivar Kolve, Øystein Sunde, Kari Bremnes, Lars Klevstrand and Sondre Bratland.
