About Don Partridge
Brief Biog Don Partridge (born 27 October 1944, in Bournemouth, Dorset, England) is an English busker, one-man band and singer-songwriter, who found fleeting fame in the mid to late 1960s. In the late sixties, following the release of his hit song "Rosie", one-man-band Don Partridge became a household name. But Don was too unconventional even for the music business so, after touring Britain with a band of fellow street musicians and organising a "Buskers Happening" at the Albert Hall, he abandoned stardom for a life on the road. Now, after more than thirty years of travelling, kept alive by busking and selling books of poetry, Don is back in the music business. His album includes songs which allow us a glimpse into the life of this remarkable man who is surely the undisputed "King of the Buskers". Don now divides his time between writing music, working on an autobiographical film and busking around the coastal towns of Sussex. He lived in Seaford until his death on 21st September 2010, having been unwell for a while.
