About Don Cooper
It's a great shame that Don Cooper's music has more or less faded into obscurity because most of it is brilliant. Don Cooper's music is stylistically similar to early 70's artists such as Jim Croce and Don McClean. Cooper had a laid back vocal style and often sung about escaping the city life in favour of a more bucolic lifestyle. Don Cooper's first four albums were released on a small label called Roulette, all are excellent and worth seeking on vinyl if you can find them. Cooper's final Roulette album was released in 1972 and is called "What You Feel Is How You Grow" - this album featured greater instrumental backing than earlier albums and is slightly more eclectic than early efforts too - all in all an interesting and enjoyable final gasp from an artist who should have been more popular.
