About Domovoi
Domovoi is minimal instrumental experimentation. Lo-fi guitars, melancholy drums and brooding synths meld into an embracing gestalt of ethereal warmth. There are two other artists that go by the name of Domovoi:; Domovoi (Salem, OR), a solo drone / doom project from Paul Riedl (Blood Incantation, Merkstave, Spectral Voice, ex-Velnias, and others) for his Special Low Frequency label, an imprint of Woodsmoke that dealt primarily with ambient releases. The lone release, the Void Rehearsal Archive 2007-2009, was recorded at the Burial Grounds, where bands like Hell, Mania, Merkstave, and Lake of Blood also recorded. Domovoi, a band comprised of Silas Ciarán and Ryan Harris which utilises the styles of doom, sludge, black metal and crust.
