About Die Kapelle
Danish post punk band formed by Michael Tange (guitar and vocals), Niclas Tange (drums) and Martin Sellén (bass) in the town of Elsinore (Helsingør) north of Copenhagen around 1984. All three members being half Swedish the group was in the beginning inspired by the Swedish punk scene, but gradually moving in a more romantic direction under the influence of British bands such as Simple Minds. The group broke up around 1989. Niclas Tange became a member of legendary Danish art pop group The Poets (aka The Sealand Poets) and has continued a remarkable musical career ever since, at present being a member of both critcally acclaimed Ekko and Mikael Simpson´s backing group, Sølvstorm. His older brother Michael Tange works as a light engineer and professional diver. Martin Sellén tragically died in Madrid in the late Nineties.
