About Diamond Bones
“Electronic Tribal Space Rock”, “Chilly-N-Synthy-Dark-Disco”, and “Shaded Retro Electro”, are just some of the ways reviewers have described the sound cultivated by Montreal’s Diamond Bones. The band takes pride in the fact that their music doesn’t fit into the box of a single genre, and frankly, the craftier the description, the better. Having been together just over a year, with humble beginnings in a suburban garage, they’ve grabbed the attention of audiences locally and throughout various parts of Canada and the USA with their magnetic live shows. Recent notable performances included showcases at POP Montreal NXNE, Northside, and CMJ Music Festivals, and opening slots for such reputed acts as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Chad Valley, Geographer, and J.D Samson & MEN. The trio has been featured on New York’s “Oh My Rockness” blog and have been reviewed online by Forget the Box, Confront Magazine, and many more. Diamond Bones was also voted in CultMTL’s ‘Best of Montreal’ annual poll making the top 5 for both Best Electronic Act & Best Musical Act categories in 2013 and 2014, they were among the Top 10 National Finalists in CBC’s Searchlight 2014 competition, and most recently have been signed to Third Side Music (sync licensing & publishing). Diamond Bones has spent the last year putting their heart & soul into a debut full-length album recorded at Breakglass Studio in Montreal, with mixing engineer Jace Lasek (The Besnard Lakes) and mastering credits to Ryan Morey (Arcade Fire), respectively. The self-titled album is anticipated to be released late-2014.
