About Desert City Soundtrack

Formed in Portland, OR in the late 1990's, Desert City Soundtrack [Matt Carillo (guitars, vocals), Cory Gray (keys, vocals, trumpet), and Brian Wright (drums)]played a detached style of indie rock that was similar to Built to Spill, Sebadoh, and a variety of other artists pushing the envelope within the realm of indie rock in the new millennium. They issued a few 7" recordings before signing to Deep Elm and releasing Contents of Distraction in 2002. They released their first full-length, the well-received Funeral Car, in 2003 and appeared on a 3-way split with Sounds like Violence and Settlefish the same year. Their second album, Perfect Addition, was released in 2005. Since then, the band has only been scarcely active.
