Denise Marsa is an internationally renowned singer, songwriter, producer, a music mentor, and entrepreneur. Born in Trenton, New Jersey Marsa has lived and worked in New York City, London and Los Angeles. The first two decades of her career marked Marsa’s achievement as a vocalist with two successful chart-topping hit records, “Lucky Stars,” a duet with Dean Friedman, and as the lead vocalist on The Flirts dance record, “Helpless (You Took My Love).” While living in London, she wrote songs under contract with Warner Brothers UK Ltd. Later, while in Los Angeles, she wrote songs under contract with Warner/Chappell. After performing on two hit records and signing two co-publishing deals (both times her key person left in the middle of her contracts) Marsa took matters into her own hands. In 1997 she formed her own indie label, KeyMedia Group. Marsa self-produced, promoted and paid for all aspects of her debut 11-song CD, and aptly called it “SELF”. The eagerly anticipated album, “SELF”, garnered critical acclaim and in 2009 the CD went live on iTunes. Her self-promoting led to other various opportunities with other artists, theaters, book publishers and other entertainment entities, all centered on intellectual properties. Marsa has been on both sides of the media spectrum. As an accomplished recording artist she understands the true nature and sensitivity of a PR and marketing campaign and the importance it plays in the life of a project. With her worldwide experience in many facets of media, she brings to the table exceptional instincts, astute professionalism, and the ability to handle all aspects of a PR and marketing campaign with passion, commitment and creativity. Her impressive list of clients has praised both the results of her efforts and the integrity of her work. Her reputation for always thinking outside the box is what enables her to work with many levels of personnel in the media industry. Back in 1998 when Denise Marsa started KeyMedia Group to promote her critically acclaimed debut CD, SELF, she had no idea that years later she’d be publicizing and marketing books, musicians, non-profits and corporations. In 2005 Marsa worked a year as a freelance contractor for Simon and Schuster in the editorial department of childrens books, PR and eventually sales. In 2006 she was the marketing consultant for the highly acclaimed Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre. She helped to launch Mouth Public Relations 2006/2007 as a freelance Account Executive. In 2008 Marsa created KeyMedia Public Relations to support her work as a public relations and marketing consultant. Her work led to helping dozens of clients in the arts & entertainment industries. The bulk of her clients are indie artists, musicians, and start-up companies in the arts and entertainment industries with a focus on intellectual property. Other notable accomplishments: Marsa was awarded a Silver Record from the British Phonographic Industry for her work on Lucky Stars with Dean Friedman. In 2005 Marsa was a featured panelist on the How to Become a Successful Entrepreneur for the NYU Office of Career Services during the Universities career week program. In 2008 Marsa was named one of the top 30 women entrepreneurs of 2008 in the nationally distributed GO MAGAZINE. Denise studied Fine Arts & Theater at the University of Arizona and English Literature and Psychology at Trenton State College. Marsa has lived and worked in New York, New Jersey, London and Los Angeles. With her focus always on music, while living in Los Angeles Marsa had the opportunity to work on several film and TV projects as both a composer and music supervisor. Through the years, her songs have been recorded by other international artists and have been featured in several feature films. In 2010 Denise Marsa Productions, LLC was created to act as the umbrella company to house all of Marsa's companies and creative endeavors. The company is currently developing The Music Mentor™, an unscripted documentary TV series. Marsa now resides in the New York City Metro Area.
