About DTAILZ

Inspired by and admiring the Moving Shadow label and all it's artists, and co-DJ and friend Sebulba, in early 2009, DTAILZ, originated in Belgium, decided to buy two Technics SL-1200 MK2 turntables so he could mix those records himself in stead of looking how others did. DTAILZ first came in touch with drum & bass around 2005. Around that time, lots of his class mates where listening to drum & bass and thus it was impossible to not pick some of it up. While at that time, DTAILZ wasn't really listening to drum & bass, he was in fact listening to it indirectly, while playing games like Grand Theft Auto III (featuring the radio station 'MSX FM', featuring a drum & bass mix by Moving Shadow-founder Timecode featuring MC Codebreaker, containing tracks released by Moving Shadow around the year 2000) and GTA Liberty City Stories (featuring the radiostation 'MSX 98', again containing a drum & bass mix by Timecode and MC Codebreaker). While in GTA III - which was released in 2001, whith a storyline taking place in the same time - the MSX FM mix contained more agressive/darker Drum & Bass music with artists like Technical Itch, nCode and Dom & Roland, GTA Liberty City Stories - released in 2005 for PlayStation Portable, in which the storyline took place in 1998 - contained an MSX mix filled with brilliant jungle tracks from the nineties. It featured Omni Trio's famous Renegade Snares and Thru The Vibe (2 on 1 Mix), Deep Blue's Helicopter Tune and Renegade's Terrorist. It was mostly that mix that inspired (and still inspires) DTAILZ to begin as a DJ. Beginning in 2009 with only three vinyl records, DTAILZ has already collected over 120 vinyl records and counting, including many of the tracks that where featured on the MSX FM and MSX 98 mixes, plus other tracks and artists out of the Moving Shadow collection. Off course D-TAILZ likes other artists too, such as Noisia, Teebee, Calyx, Break, Commix and Lynx, just to name a few. Other than drum & bass, DTAILZ also likes dubstep, though not the 'filth' stuff you hear on radiostations like Studio Brussel today. He already collected some dubstep records so he also likes to spin dubstep records once in a while. http://vi.be/DTAILZ
