About Cyanid

There are at least two groups which have used the name Cyanid: 1) CYANID (DK) - Death Metal Martin and Julian met the first time in September 2004, with the intention to commit a metal band. They moved Julian's (at the time rather small) drum kit down into Martin's mothers basement and started practicing. Soon afterwards, Martins friend Jesper aka. Goat joined as the bands bass player. The gear was scarce and the talent absent, but enthusiasm kept the guys going, playing some cover tracks without vocals, until finally early 2005, where Lasse Meldgaard joined as lead vocalist. Lasse had connection to another band, who was willing to share their rehearsal studio, which has a decent PA. The guys here formed the band Cyanid. The first 2 songs where written in the first month: Peeling of the mind (never released) and Through War. Practice continued, the band developed over the summer, wrote more songs and began plotting their first demo. At this point Cyanid took another guitarist in, which was soon kicked out due to personal differences. The demo (Desecrator) was recorded in October 2005, and Simon Mortensen joined as guitarist just in time to join the rest of the guys on stage at the desecrator release party, December 2005. "Desecrator" received generous reviews, and Cyanid was invited to larger gigs with Dawn of Demise, Crucifix, Victimizer and Lipid. With such a good start, it was hard to say goodbye to Simon Mortensen when he decided to leave the band in june 2006. Luckily, Cyanid soon found themselves as a 5 piece band again, with the joining of guitar-shredder Allan Müller. Not long after Allan joined, Cyanid plotted the next release, "Revelation". Revelation was produced by Cyanid themselves, and paid with more blood, sweat and tears than money. It was horrendously delayed, and the 7 track EP was released over a year after the band entered the studio. In the meantime, while waiting for revelation to finish, the band went through even more line-up change. Goat left the band in agreement with the other members. Hans Svarre joined as bassist instead. Allan left the band to pursue a musical career (and Cyanid will always be underground). Hans took Allan's place and Lasse picked up the bass alongside with the vocals. Cyanid kicked Hans out for lack of discipline, and the band decided to not search actively for extra members. In conjunction with this decision, Cyanid adopted the alias "C3N", the chemical designation of Cyanide. Allan still join's the guys to play a gig once in a while, but only as session. 2) Cyanid was also an alias used by Swedish demoscene tracker Ludvig Kullberg. He composed music in FastTracker 2 and was primarily active in the late 90s.
