Up next, Charleene lends her acting and musical talents to the Christmas film “Evergreen”, playing a small-town musician who upon learning of her father’s death returns to the life on a small Tennessee Christmas tree farm she tried to forget, only to find pieces of herself along the way (from the producers of “Hit & Run”.) A classically trained violinist, Charleene’s unique musical style mixes jazz, rock, pop, blues, and swinging fiddle. As a result, she has shared the stage with highly celebrated artists including Josh Groban, Charlie Daniels, the TransSiberian Orchestra and Frank Sinatra, Jr. She has also performed as a studio violinist/fiddler on numerous albums from Nashville to New Orleans. With a distinctive vocal range, Charleene seamlessly transitions from classical to contemporary, utilizing her instrument in a variety of ways to best fit the story being told. Classically trained, Charleene has performed with Operafestival di Roma in Rome, Italy and with regional opera companies, later expanding her repertoire towards musical theater and The Great American Songbook for jazz cabarets across the U.S. As a contemporary vocalist, Charleene fuses jazz, country, folk and funk to communicate her unique sensibilities and outlook on life taking the listener on a journey of self-discovery, heartbreak, and love. Charleene’s first jazz vocal album “Smile” is available on iTunes. Composing for both screen and stage, Charleene finds inspiration from musical greats, especially impressionist Claude Debussy, India’s modern day Mozart A.R. Rahman, and even classic surf Americana genius Brian Wilson.
