About Cassietta George
Cassietta George was born in Memphis, TN January 23, 1929, died January 3,1995 in Los Angles, CA. Ms. George's unique style and sound is a fused traditional black gospel music mixed with elements of a contemporary sound. Ms. George later moved to Chicago, Ill in 1953, she became one of the lead singers of the world famous Caravan, founder Ms. Albertina Walker. Cassietta song along side the late great Rev. James Cleveland, Albertina Walker, Inez Andrews, Shirley Caesar, Delores Washington, and Dorthy Norwood. Ms. George has recorded over 16 albums and written over 100 songs. Her most noted work for her was writing and recording of "Walk Around Heaven All Day" which has been a standard through the years. She has two Grammy nominations and many other awards to her credit.
