About Bullet Safe Inside

Bullet Safe Inside encourages listeners who have downloaded their albums to distribute them freely to their friends. The writing, recording, and production is all done by Jason Schneider, and he gives his express permission, and even wills for you, to distribute these albums to your friends who you may think will enjoy them. Out of Oswego, New York, Bullet Safe Inside offers plenty for those hungry to hear some original music. Jason Schneider (currently Darkest Ritual vocals, guitar, shared songwriting duties, some drums), the founder of Bullet Safe Inside, was born in 1986, and thus was but a young lad when the great bands of the early 90s hit their primes, came, and went. As a youth, Jason looked up to his older cousins who had been deeply immersed into the music and ethos of the grunge era, eventually causing him to take their method and music to heart. The music of his project, Bullet Safe Inside, takes on aspects of the grunge scene of the early 1990s and mixes them with various other influences, from ambient dream pop to progressive black metal flavors, resulting in a delightful balance of sounds. Songs can be both heavy and sludgy, yet have a light kind of ambience as well. The only way to truly have the "experience," if you will, is to give a listen. Though the main influence of Bullet Safe Inside comes from a combination of grunge rock and some dream pop bands like Mazzy Star and the Posies, Jason is a pretty big metal head (and a somewhat of an elitist when it comes to his metal). Although his music would not be classified as "metal," there is a definite influence in the feel and structure of his songs. So far, all of the music that Jason has recorded has been done using GarageBand on his PowerMac G5. Jason uses MIDI controlled drum samples in these tracks, and records every part himself (with a few exceptions). Recently, Andrew Weeks, an old high school friend of Jason's has taken to playing bass guitar and has lended his services so far to the new tracks, "When Sun Sets" and "Insight Hiding," and likely will be a regular contributor to most future Bullet songs, as Jason no longer has a bass guitar and Andy has proven himself capable and deserving of the role. Jonathan Velzy also makes appearances on some Bullet recordings and is in the live line up.
