About Boom Devil

During the 1990's producer and guitarist Mark Hawkes collaborated with producer (Dub Maestro) Syd Crossley to form 'Boom Devil'. Coming from different musical backgrounds helped to define a sound that is unique only to them. Over the years they teamed up with a variety of different vocalists to arrive at their debut album 'Rumble'. These include the wonderful 'Christine Leach' ( Baby Fox , William Orbit and co-writer of 'Ray of Light' for Madonna ), the sensuous 'Nina Perry' and 'Gez Scott'. The sound has a cinematic feel with a hint of 70's B- movies and ranges from laid back to up tempo. The title track of the album 'Rumble' achieved much acclaim on the club scene and the album was featured and loved by the late and great 'John Peel' on his radio show.
