About Billy Davies

Billie Davis is a British pop star whose peak spanned the 5 years from 1963 to 1968, releasing tunes on Decca, Parlophone, Piccadilly and Columbia. She was a protegé of Robert Stigwood and recorded in studios helmed by contemporaries like Joe "Telstar" Meek and Mike Vickers of Manfred Mann. She covered many tunes, including "Living In The Past" doing a brassy soulful take on a Jethro Tull song. Her popularity spread to Spain and even Latin America, although she never broke big in the US. She continued making records in the 1970's and even some one offs in the 80's and 90's. She's now a Siamese cat breeder and still performing in England, often on bills with former boyfriend and Shadows guitarist Jet Harris. http://www.billied.com Billy Davis who sang Stanky (Get Funky) is not the same as Billie Davis and yet LastFM automatically sends Billy Davis to this artist page - sheesh
