About Brooklyn Bounce

Brooklyn Bounce is a project name used by German music producers Matthias Menck, also known as Double M, and Dennis Bohn, also known as Bonebreaker. The duo have also released music under other names, including Mental Madness Productions and Beatbox feat. Rael. In addition to their own productions, they have created remixes for various artists, including Scooter and Kool & the Gang. Menck and Bohn, both from Hamburg, began working together in 1995. Their first chart success came under the name Boyz R Us with the single "Singin' in My Mind". In 1996, they introduced the Brooklyn Bounce project and released the single "The Theme (of Progressive Attack)", which gained popularity in German dance clubs before achieving broader chart success. This release contributed to the production of the debut album "The Beginning". The producers operate primarily as a studio-based act and do not perform as part of the Brooklyn Bounce live lineup. Instead, the project has featured various vocalists and performers in live appearances and recordings. These collaborators have included René "Diablo" Behrens, Ulrika Bohn, Maeva Ehoulan, Alejandra Cuevas-Moreno, and Stephan "Damon" Zschoppe. Vocalists were not formally credited on releases until the album "Bass, Beats and Melody", which was issued in November 2000. In 2006, the label Mental Madness Records released "System Shock (The Lost Album 1999)", a collection of earlier material by Menck and Bohn. The album was made available exclusively in digital format.
